Kyiv City, located in the central part of Ukraine, is situated along the Dnieper River, one of the country's largest and most significant rivers. During the summer months, the water temperature in the Dnieper River typically ranges from 20°C to 24°C (68°F to 75°F), which makes it a popular spot for swimming, boating, and other water activities. The river’s water is warm enough to attract both locals and tourists, who often spend time along the riverbanks or engage in water sports.

In the spring and autumn, the water temperature in the Dnieper and the region's lakes cools down, typically ranging from 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F). While swimming becomes less common, other activities like fishing or kayaking are still enjoyed by many, especially in the milder parts of autumn. During the winter months, the water temperature drops significantly, reaching around 0°C to 2°C (32°F to 36°F), and the Dnieper River can freeze in some areas, as well as the smaller lakes around Kyiv.
