The city of Boryspil and its surroundings in the Kyiv Oblast have several lakes and ponds that become popular recreational spots during the summer. As with most small water bodies in the region, the water temperature here is directly dependent on weather conditions. During the hot summer months, especially in July and August, the water in the lakes near Boryspil can warm up nicely, reaching comfortable swimming temperatures ranging from +22 to +24∘C. The swimming season typically begins when the water temperature consistently exceeds +18∘C, which usually happens in early June.
However, despite the presence of water bodies and pleasant summer water temperatures, most of them do not have the status of official, equipped beaches. Swimming in such places is often unorganized. This means that regular water quality monitoring is likely not conducted, and rescue infrastructure and amenities (changing rooms, restrooms) may be absent. Therefore, although local residents and visitors actively use these lakes for recreation, swimming in them is done at their own risk.
