The city of Kaharlyk in Kyiv Oblast is located far from major rivers like the Dnipro, so swimming opportunities here are mainly associated with local ponds and small water bodies. As with most small, shallow reservoirs in the region, the water temperature in them is highly dependent on weather conditions. In the peak of summer, especially in July and August when the weather is hot, the water in Kaharlyk's ponds can warm up nicely, reaching comfortable swimming temperatures of +22 to +24∘C.
