*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Sovs’ki Stavky (Совські ставки) in Kyiv are a cluster of ponds lying in the valleys of the Sovka stream, divided into upper and lower ponds. Because they are relatively shallow and surrounded by vegetation, they can warm up in summer, but not as uniformly or as high as large lakes or rivers. In the warmest months, surface temperatures might approach the low twenties (around 20-24 °C) in their sunlit, shallow sections, but deeper or more shaded parts remain cooler.
As for swimming, Sovs’ki Stavky are more often used for fishing, informal recreation, or quiet nature walks than for official bathing. Their water tends to get more stagnant in places and may not always meet sanitary or clarity standards for safe swimming. Also, there are few (if any) formal facilities like lifeguards or systematically designated beaches. So while a brave swimmer might occasionally take a dip in the warmer shallows in midsummer, doing so carries some risk, and it's better to favor officially sanctioned swimming spots in Kyiv.
