Trukhaniv Island is located within the city limits of Kyiv, right across from the historic Podil district, and is surrounded by the calm branches of the Dnieper River. During summer, the water temperature around the island typically ranges from 21 to 25°C, depending on weather conditions and river flow. Because the current here is slower than in the main channel, the water warms up well, especially in the bays and shallow areas along the beaches. This makes Trukhaniv Island one of the most popular swimming spots within the capital.
Several sandy beaches stretch along the island’s western shore, offering comfortable access to the water and scenic views of the city skyline. The water quality is generally suitable for swimming during dry, sunny periods, though after heavy rains or floods it can become less clear.
