Location & Local Information
Tetiiv is situated on the small Roska River, a tributary of the Ros that flows through the southern part of the Kyiv region. In the section near Tetiiv, the river is rather narrow and shallow, which allows the water to warm up quickly during summer. From June to August, temperatures in the Roska usually range between 20 and 24°C, and during hot, windless days it can feel even warmer near the banks. The calm flow and soft, grassy shores make it suitable for wading and short swims, though the depth is limited in most areas.
Locals often come to the river for recreation — fishing, picnics, or simply cooling off on hot afternoons. The water is generally clean, especially in stretches surrounded by greenery away from urban runoff. While Roska is too small for large-scale swimming spots, it offers a peaceful and natural setting for a quick dip or quiet relaxation by the water within walking distance of Tetiiv.
