Location & Local Information
Chabany, located just southwest of Kyiv, is surrounded by several small ponds and artificial lakes that were formed along local streams and lowlands. These water bodies are shallow and warm up quickly with the arrival of summer. By mid-June, the water temperature here usually reaches 22–24°C, while in July and August it can rise to around 26°C during sunny spells. The calm water and soft banks make these ponds suitable for light swimming and relaxing near the water.
Local residents often visit nearby lakes for bathing or fishing, especially in the green areas on the outskirts of the settlement. The water is generally clear enough for recreational use, and in windless weather it feels pleasantly warm. Although there are no large organized beaches, Chabany’s small lakes provide an easy and quiet escape from the city heat — perfect for a quick summer swim or an evening rest by the water.
