The village of Strakholissya is situated in a unique location in Kyiv Oblast, on the shore of the Kyiv Reservoir—a wide section of the Dnipro River. As this is a large and open water system, its water temperature regime is characterized by significant inertia. The swimming season here, as across the entire Kyiv Sea, typically begins when the water temperature consistently exceeds +18∘C, which usually occurs in early to mid-June.
Throughout the summer, particularly in July, the water in the Strakholissya area can warm up to a comfortable +22 to +24∘C. However, due to the large size and depth of the reservoir, the water temperature can change quickly under the influence of wind, which may bring colder lower layers to the surface. Regarding swimming opportunities, Strakholissya is more a place for informal, wild recreation and fishing rather than an official beach area.
