Like most freshwater reservoirs in Kyiv, its water regime is dependent on the prevailing weather conditions. The swimming season typically commences when the water temperature in Kyiv's reservoirs rises above +17∘C, with the comfortable range for extended swimming generally being between +22 and +25∘C.
Due to its size and considerable depth, the water in Almazne Lake may warm up slower than in shallower lakes, but during the peak summer months (July-August), it can certainly reach a comfortable swimming temperature of +22 to +24∘C.
