The Zdvyzh River flows through the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions of Ukraine, joining the Teteriv River near Korostyshiv. It’s a small, calm river with mostly sandy or muddy banks and a gentle current, making it suitable for swimming in certain spots during the warm months. In summer, the water temperature in the Zdvyzh typically ranges between 20–25°C, depending on rainfall and air temperature. Because the river passes through forested and rural areas, the water often remains relatively clear and cool compared to larger rivers.
Swimming in the Zdvyzh is most comfortable in July and August, when the water warms up the most. However, the river is narrow and shallow in many sections, so it’s better suited for short swims, wading, or cooling off rather than long-distance swimming. Local residents sometimes create small bathing areas or makeshift beaches near villages, taking advantage of the peaceful and natural surroundings.
