Location & Local Information
Hlevakha, located just south of Kyiv, is known for its numerous small lakes and ponds that are part of the local river network and old sand quarries. These bodies of water are mostly shallow, which helps them warm up quickly in summer. By mid-June, the water temperature here typically reaches around 22–24°C, and during the hottest periods of July and August it can rise to 26–27°C. The water in these lakes is usually calm and clear, especially in places surrounded by forests or away from the main roads.
Many residents of Hlevakha and nearby Kyiv come to these lakes to swim and relax on weekends. Some of the ponds have sandy shores and gentle entrances, making them convenient for bathing and family recreation.
