*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Vardar River is the longest river in North Macedonia, flowing from the northwest near Gostivar through Skopje and the central valleys, before reaching Greece and the Aegean Sea. Its temperature and flow vary depending on altitude, season, and weather conditions. In the upper and middle sections, the water is relatively cool, averaging 3–6 °C in winter and 10–15 °C in spring. During summer, especially in the central and southern parts near Veles and Gevgelija, the Vardar warms to 22–26 °C, offering pleasant conditions for outdoor activities along its banks. The river’s flow decreases slightly in summer, allowing calmer sections to form.
Swimming in the Vardar is officially allowed but not common throughout most of its course. While some locals cool off in the calmer areas during July and August, swimming is generally limited due to strong currents and variable water quality near urban centers. The river is more often used for fishing, kayaking, and walking along its shores. Despite its challenges, the Vardar remains an iconic feature of North Macedonia’s landscape, shaping its valleys and serving as a natural and cultural symbol of the country.
