*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Lepenac River (Lumi i Lepencit) originates in Kosovo and flows through a small, northern section of North Macedonia before joining the Vardar River near the city of Skopje. As a mountain-fed river flowing through a continental climate, its water temperature remains quite cold throughout the year. During the winter, the temperature of the Lepenac drops significantly, typically ranging from 1∘C to 5∘C, carrying the chill from its upland sources. Even during the peak of the hot summer, the water remains brisk, generally reaching surface temperatures only between 16∘C and 20∘C.
Swimming in the Lepenac River is not officially recommended or encouraged. The primary reasons are safety concerns stemming from the relatively cold water temperatures which pose a hypothermia risk, and the river’s often swift currents, particularly after rainfall. Furthermore, as the river passes through various settlements, its water quality is susceptible to contamination from municipal and agricultural sources, which presents a public health risk. Therefore, any informal swimming that occurs is localized, generally confined to small, non-regulated areas, and is undertaken at the individual's own risk.
