*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Bregalnica is the second longest river in North Macedonia, originating in the Maleshevo Mountains and flowing through the eastern part of the country. Due to its mountain source, the upper reaches of the river are consistently cold, with temperatures typically ranging between 4∘C and 8∘C throughout much of the year, particularly near its springs. Further downstream in the plains, where the river passes through towns like Shtip and flows slower, the water temperature increases significantly in summer, potentially reaching 18∘C to 22∘C in the shallow parts during the hottest months. In winter, temperatures can drop close to 0∘C.
Swimming in the Bregalnica River is generally not recommended due to prevalent concerns about water quality. The river flows through a heavily agricultural and historically industrial region, and, particularly in its lower and middle sections, it has suffered from significant pollution from untreated wastewater and agricultural runoff. While locals may sometimes swim in specific, traditionally clean areas, especially in the cooler, higher reaches, official safety standards are generally compromised further downstream. For public health reasons, recreational swimming is widely advised against along the river's main course.
