*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Čair is a central urban municipality of Skopje, located along the Vardar River, the largest river in North Macedonia. The Vardar has a continental water temperature pattern, with considerable seasonal variation. During winter, the water cools to around 3–6 °C, while in summer it reaches 20–25 °C in the calmer stretches through the city. The river is fed by mountain and plain tributaries, keeping it moderately cool even during heatwaves. Although the Vardar adds freshness and character to Skopje’s landscape, its flow and water quality make it more suitable for viewing and recreation along the banks than for swimming.
Swimming in the Vardar near Čair is not officially allowed due to safety and hygiene concerns. The current can be strong in some areas, and the river’s proximity to urban zones affects water quality. Still, the riverside paths are popular for walking, cycling, and relaxation, especially in summer evenings when the air near the river is cooler. The Vardar remains an important natural element of Skopje, connecting different neighborhoods and providing a refreshing contrast to the city’s dense architecture.
