*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Zelino is a village and municipality located in the northwestern part of North Macedonia, near the upper course of the Vardar River, not far from Tetovo. In this mountainous region, the Vardar is narrower and faster-flowing, with water that originates from the Šar Mountains. The temperature of the river changes noticeably throughout the year. During winter, it stays around 2–5 °C, remaining very cold due to melting snow and mountain runoff. In spring, the water warms slightly to 10–14 °C, while in summer it can reach 18–22 °C in shallower and calmer sections near the village. The river’s clarity and movement give the area a refreshing, natural character.
Swimming in the Vardar near Zelino is allowed but uncommon, as the water is often cold and the current strong. Locals occasionally cool off during the warmest months, usually in small, calm pools formed by the river’s bends. However, most people prefer to spend time fishing, resting, or walking along the banks. The combination of clean water, mountain air, and scenic landscape makes the Vardar around Zelino an attractive place for nature lovers rather than for swimmers.
