** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Sitnica River (Sitnicë / Ситница) is the longest river that flows entirely within Kosovo, traversing the central part of the country. Unlike many other rivers in the region, its flow and temperature are significantly influenced by human activity and its passage through developed areas, including near power plants. According to monitoring data, the river maintains a relatively stable and cool temperature along much of its course, often recorded between 11∘C and 13∘C, even during the shoulder seasons. While the surface temperature may slightly increase in the long, hot summers, reaching perhaps 15∘C to 18∘C, its overall flow prevents it from heating up significantly. Winter temperatures typically range from 4∘C to 8∘C.
Swimming in the Sitnica River is not allowed and is strongly discouraged for reasons of public health and safety. The river is notorious for its severe and extensive anthropogenic pollution, which includes heavy metals, industrial discharges (especially from the area near thermal power plants), and untreated municipal sewage throughout its basin. This contamination makes the water hygienically unsuitable for any form of recreational bathing. Consequently, the river's primary use is for drainage and industrial purposes, and swimming poses a significant risk of contracting waterborne diseases.
