*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The South Morava River, flowing through southern and central Serbia, is one of the country’s most important waterways. Its water temperature varies significantly with the seasons due to the continental climate and mountain-fed tributaries. In spring, the river’s temperature usually ranges between 10 and 15 °C, while in summer it can rise to 22–25 °C in calmer and shallower stretches. During autumn, the temperature gradually drops to around 14–18 °C, and in winter it often falls below 5 °C, especially in higher areas where freezing can occur. These seasonal variations reflect both the regional weather and the river’s mixed hydrological character.
Swimming in the South Morava is not officially organized, but it is common in certain rural areas where the flow is slower and the water cleaner. During the summer months, locals often swim or cool off in shallow bends of the river when temperatures are comfortable. However, the strong current and varying depth make some sections unsafe for swimming, particularly near confluences or in deeper channels. Despite this, the river remains a popular natural feature for recreation, fishing, and relaxation along its long and diverse course.
