*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Peja Bistrica River (Пећка Бистрица, Lumbardhi i Pejës) flows from the Rugova Mountains in western Kosovo, carrying clear and cold water through deep gorges before reaching the town of Peja. Its source lies at high elevation, which keeps the water temperature relatively low throughout the year. During winter months, the river averages around 2–4 °C, while in spring it rises slightly to 8–10 °C as snow melts. In summer, the temperature reaches 15–18 °C near Peja, though upstream sections remain much colder due to mountain runoff. Autumn brings gradual cooling, with temperatures dropping back to around 10 °C by October.
Swimming in the Peja Bistrica is possible but not common because of its cold water and fast current, especially near the gorges. The clear mountain water attracts nature lovers for sightseeing, photography, and fishing rather than bathing. Some locals enjoy brief dips during the warmest summer days, mainly in calmer stretches outside the city where the river widens and slows. However, even in summer, the water remains refreshing and chilly, making the river better suited for recreation along its scenic banks rather than extended swimming.
