The Rasina River in Serbia, a tributary of the West Morava, is characterized by its relatively swift, clean mountain flow, particularly in its upper reaches. While not a formally organized bathing area with monitored beaches, swimming is commonly practiced by local residents during the summer months in shallower, calmer sections, such as near the city of Kruševac and upstream. However, caution is advised due to the natural, unregulated river environment, which means strong currents and fluctuating water levels pose risks, especially after heavy rainfall.
As a predominantly mountain river, the Rasina maintains a relatively cool temperature year-round compared to the major Serbian lowlands rivers. In the winter season, approximately from November to March, the water temperature is very cold, typically ranging from 1∘C to 6∘C, often with ice near the banks. The water is most suitable for a refreshing dip in the summer, generally from July to August, when the peak surface temperature can reach a comfortable, yet cool, range of 18∘C to 22∘C, depending on the specific location and the overall air temperature.
