*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Deçan Bistrica River (Lumbardhi i Deçanit / Dečanska Bistrica) is a prominent river in western Kosovo, known for its pristine waters as it originates high in the Bjeshkët e Nemuna (Accursed Mountains) and flows through the Deçan Gorge. Due to its glacial and high-altitude mountain source, the river is characterized by exceptionally cold water temperatures throughout the year. In winter, temperatures are near freezing, often falling to 1∘C to 4∘C and remaining very cold due to snowmelt input. Even in the height of summer, the temperature rarely exceeds a chilly 12∘C to 16∘C.
Swimming in the Deçan Bistrica River is not generally recommended or safe. The extremely low water temperature poses a serious and immediate risk of hypothermia, making prolonged exposure dangerous for most people. Furthermore, the river's rapid flow, strong currents, and rocky riverbed, typical of a mountain stream, create significant hazards, particularly in the upper and canyon sections. While the clear water is highly valued for its quality and used for irrigation and hydro energy, it is not designated for public bathing due to these safety concerns.
