*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Toplica River flows through southern Serbia, joining the Južna Morava near the town of Korvingrad. It originates from the slopes of Kopaonik Mountain, which means its waters are relatively cool and clean, especially in the upper sections. In winter, the river temperature usually stays between 1–5 °C (34–41 °F), with some ice forming in the coldest months. During spring, melting snow raises the water level and temperature rises to around 10–14 °C (50–57 °F). In the summer months, particularly in July and August, the Toplica warms to 18–23 °C (64–73 °F), depending on air temperature and flow speed. In autumn, the water gradually cools again below 15 °C (59 °F).
Swimming in the Toplica River is not officially regulated but is common among locals, especially in calmer and wider sections near Prokuplje. The water quality is generally good for bathing, though cooler temperatures and variable flow can limit comfort for swimmers. During hot summer days, the river offers refreshing conditions for swimming and recreation. However, as with many mountain-fed rivers, sudden changes in current or temperature can occur, so caution is recommended. The river’s scenic surroundings make it popular for both swimming and relaxation in nature.
