*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Vushtrri is a historic town located in the northern part of Kosovo, through which the Sitnica River flows before joining the Ibar. The river has a moderate continental climate influence, with distinct temperature variations throughout the year. In winter, the water temperature usually stays between 2–5 °C, remaining cold due to low air temperatures and reduced flow. In spring, it rises to around 10–15 °C, and during summer, especially in July and August, the Sitnica warms to 20–24 °C in the flatter areas near Vushtrri. The riverbanks are surrounded by agricultural land, giving the area a peaceful rural character.
Swimming in the Sitnica River near Vushtrri is allowed but not widely practiced. The river’s depth and flow vary by season, and some parts are shallow, making them more suitable for cooling off than for full swimming. Locals sometimes bathe or relax by the water on hot summer days, while others use the river for fishing or irrigation. Although not a major recreational site, the Sitnica remains an important natural feature for the region, providing both ecological and cultural value to the community of Vushtrri.
