Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Vlasina Lake, located in southeastern Serbia at an altitude of about 1,200 meters, is one of the highest and most scenic artificial lakes in the country. Due to its mountain location, the water temperature remains relatively low throughout the year. In winter, the surface often freezes, with temperatures around 0–3 °C (32–37 °F). In spring, melting snow and mountain streams keep the water cold, typically between 6–10 °C (43–50 °F). During summer, especially in July and August, the lake warms to 17–20 °C (63–68 °F), and shallow bays can reach up to 22 °C (72 °F) on sunny days. By late September, the water cools again below 15 °C (59 °F).
Swimming in Vlasina Lake is allowed and attracts visitors looking for a refreshing mountain experience. The water is clean and clear, though noticeably cooler than in lowland lakes, which makes swimming invigorating but best suited for the warmest summer months. There are several access points and small beaches where people swim, kayak, or relax along the shore. Because of the altitude and sudden weather changes, swimmers are advised to be cautious. Despite its cold waters, the lake’s peaceful atmosphere and surrounding pine forests make it a popular destination for nature lovers.
