Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Përlepnicë Lake (Liqeni i Përlepnicës / Прилепничко језеро) is a smaller artificial lake located in the eastern part of Kosovo, nestled in the Gollak mountains. Due to its size and relatively moderate elevation, the lake's water temperature undergoes noticeable seasonal changes influenced by the continental climate. In the winter, the lake is very cold, with temperatures typically ranging from 2∘C to 6∘C, and ice formation is possible in the coldest periods. However, the shallower nature of the lake allows the water to warm significantly during the summer, reaching comfortable surface temperatures that may range from 22∘C to 26∘C in July and August.
Swimming in Përlepnicë Lake is not officially permitted as the reservoir is a local source for irrigation and often serves as a backup or supplementary source for drinking water for the surrounding areas. While there may not be strict physical barriers, authorities generally discourage public swimming due to the need to maintain water quality and the lack of designated, monitored public beaches or safety infrastructure. Although locals might occasionally swim during peak summer heat, the activity carries an inherent, unmonitored risk regarding both safety and water hygiene standards.
