*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Badovc Lake (Gračaničko jezero), a reservoir near Gračanica in Kosovo, is a crucial source of drinking water for the region. Due to its primary function as a water supply, swimming is officially prohibited in the lake to protect water quality and public health. Despite the prohibition, there are reports of locals occasionally breaking the rules to swim, particularly during periods of high summer temperatures. However, visitors should adhere to the official signs that restrict both swimming and fishing to maintain the integrity of the water source.
As an inland body of water in this region, the lake’s water temperature varies significantly by season. During the cold winter months, typically from December to February, the water temperature is very low, often ranging from 0∘C to 4∘C, with the lake potentially developing an ice cover. The warmest period is in mid-summer, specifically July and August. During these months, the surface water temperature can be appealing, typically settling between 20∘C and 24∘C. Despite these comfortable summer temperatures, the formal restriction on swimming remains in effect due to the lake's function as a drinking water reserve.
