Kalimantsi Lake is an artificial reservoir located in eastern North Macedonia, between the towns of Vinica and Makedonska Kamenica. Surrounded by hills and forests, it serves as an important water resource and a popular recreation spot. The lake has a mild continental temperature regime. During winter, the water cools to around 3–6 °C, while in summer it warms to 22–26 °C, depending on weather conditions. The relatively shallow edges allow the surface water to heat quickly in late spring, creating pleasant conditions for outdoor activities and fishing.
Swimming in Kalimantsi Lake is allowed and popular among locals during the warm months, especially from June to early September. The water is generally clean, and several spots along the shore are suitable for swimming or relaxing. However, as it is a reservoir used for irrigation and energy purposes, caution is advised near deeper parts and dam structures. The calm surface and scenic surroundings make Kalimantsi Lake one of the most attractive inland water bodies in eastern North Macedonia.
