Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Badovc Lake (Liqeni i Badovcit / Gračaničko jezero) is a significant artificial reservoir located near Prishtina, primarily serving as a source of drinking water for the surrounding area. Due to its purpose and depth, the water temperature of the lake remains relatively cool throughout the year. During the winter months, the surface layer is very cold, approaching freezing with temperatures typically ranging from 4∘C to 8∘C. In the summer, the surface water can warm up enough to make swimming tolerable, potentially reaching between 20∘C and 24∘C in the shallowest sections, although the deeper parts remain colder.
Swimming in Badovc Lake is officially prohibited and strictly discouraged by the relevant authorities. The main reason for this ban is that the reservoir is a crucial source of untreated drinking water, and recreational activities like swimming and fishing pose a severe risk of contamination, potentially impacting public health. Despite signs indicating the prohibition, there have been occasional instances of informal swimming, particularly during hot summers when water levels are low. However, authorities maintain the restriction to safeguard the water supply quality.
