*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Kozjak Lake is the largest artificial lake in North Macedonia, created by the dam of the Kozjak Hydro Power Plant on the Treska River, located in a predominantly mountainous continental region. Due to its depth and the cool river inflows, the lake maintains relatively low temperatures throughout the year. In winter, the surface water temperature typically hovers between 4∘C and 8∘C. During the summer, the surface layers warm up sufficiently for recreational use, generally reaching a comfortable range of 20∘C to 23∘C in the peak months of July and August.
Swimming in Kozjak Lake is generally allowed and is a popular activity during the warm summer months. Although the lake primarily serves an energy production function, its clear waters and picturesque setting attract visitors for recreation, including boating and swimming. Swimmers should exercise caution due to the significant depth of the reservoir and the rapid temperature drop below the surface layer. Furthermore, while the lake is considered clean, swimming areas are not officially regulated with lifeguards, so it is practiced at one's own risk, particularly away from established access points.
