*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Sušica, known as Sušičko Jezero, is a glacial lake located within Durmitor National Park in northern Montenegro. It lies in a deep valley at an altitude of about 1,140 meters, surrounded by steep mountain slopes and dense pine forests. The lake is seasonal and depends heavily on snowmelt and rainfall, often shrinking or disappearing during late summer. Because of its mountain origin and elevation, the water remains cold throughout the year. In spring, temperatures are around 5–9 °C, rising to 14–18 °C in summer, depending on the weather and water level. In autumn, it cools again to 8–12 °C, and in winter, it often freezes.
Swimming in Lake Sušica is technically allowed but rarely practiced due to the cold temperature and the lake’s variable depth. In summer, when the water reaches its warmest point, it can offer a refreshing dip for experienced swimmers or hikers seeking relief after a climb. However, the lake’s chilly water and short season make it more suitable for sightseeing, photography, and relaxation in nature. Sušica remains a beautiful and wild part of Durmitor’s landscape, known for its pristine water and peaceful alpine surroundings.
