Klinje Lake is an artificial reservoir located near Gacko in southeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Surrounded by mountains and pine forests, it has clear and cool water that reflects its highland origin. The lake’s temperature varies significantly through the seasons: in winter, it drops to around 3–6 °C, while during summer it usually reaches 18–22 °C, depending on depth and weather. Because the lake is fed by cold mountain streams, the water stays refreshing even in July and August. Its clarity and scenic surroundings make it a pleasant place for visitors seeking nature and tranquility.
Swimming in Klinje Lake is allowed, though it is considered best for those accustomed to cooler water. The calm surface and relatively clean water attract swimmers in the warmest months, particularly from June to early September. However, due to the lake’s rocky bottom and temperature changes, caution is advised.
