Trebinjsko Lake, also known as Goricko Lake, is an artificial reservoir located near the city of Trebinje in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It lies in the warm Mediterranean-influenced climate of Herzegovina, which keeps the water relatively mild for most of the year. In winter, the water temperature typically ranges between 6 and 9°C, while in spring it gradually warms to around 15°C. During the summer months, particularly in July and August, the lake reaches 22–26°C, sometimes even higher in shallow areas. In autumn, it slowly cools again to about 14–18°C.
Swimming in Trebinjsko Lake is possible and quite popular during summer. The water is calm, clean, and suitable for bathing, especially along accessible banks near Trebinje. There are no large organized beaches, but locals often swim and relax by the lakeshore. Because of its warm climate, long sunny days, and moderate water temperature, the lake provides good conditions for swimming, kayaking, and other water activities. Outside the summer season, the water becomes too cool for comfort, but the lake remains a scenic spot for visitors throughout the year.
