Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Semeteš Lake (Semeteško jezero) is a natural glacial lake located on the slopes of Kopaonik Mountain in Serbia, renowned for its floating islands. Due to its mountain location and unique environment, the lake is not a typical swimming resort, but swimming is generally permitted at certain access points for visitors seeking a refreshing dip. However, it is essential to note that the water is significantly colder than lowland lakes and rivers, making prolonged swimming a challenge, primarily recommended for the more resilient.
The high altitude of Semeteš Lake ensures that its water remains relatively cool throughout the year. The average annual water temperature is quite low, around 10∘C. During the peak of summer, specifically in July and August, the surface water warms up enough for recreational use, typically reaching a maximum of around 18∘C to 20∘C. In winter months, from approximately November to April, the water is near freezing, ranging from 0∘C to 4∘C, and the lake surface is usually covered with ice, making any water activity impossible.
