*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Äntu lakes (Äntu järved) in northeastern Estonia are a group of clear, spring-fed lakes whose water temperatures reflect their small size and groundwater influence. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) in spring as snowmelt and cold groundwater dominate, through roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) in early summer, to peak summer values around 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) in July and August at the warmest spots. By autumn the surface cools to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F), and in winter the lakes usually freeze; water immediately beneath the ice remains close to 0–4 °C (32–39 °F).
Swimming in the Äntu lakes is a common recreational activity during the warmer months and is generally permitted, with several informal bathing spots and nearby picnic areas used by visitors. Because many of the lakes lie within protected nature areas, swimmers should respect local rules and sensitive shoreline vegetation. The water’s clarity and cool temperature make bathing refreshing but potentially chilly even in summer, so caution is advised for prolonged immersion to avoid cold shock or hypothermia; in winter, swimming is only for experienced ice-swimmers using proper safety measures.
