** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Endla järv, a shallow bog lake in the Endla Nature Reserve in central Estonia, tends to have cool, peat-stained waters. Seasonal surface temperatures typically run from near freezing after thaw in spring—about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F)—to summer highs generally in the range of 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) on warm days. By early autumn the water commonly falls to 8–12 °C (46–54 °F) as cooling begins, and during winter the lake is ice-covered with liquid water beneath close to 0–1 °C (32–34 °F). Because the lake is relatively shallow and influenced by surrounding bogs, it warms and cools faster than deeper lakes and often remains cooler even in midsummer.
Swimming in Endla järv is possible in summer and is practiced by visitors, but it is subject to local nature reserve rules and practical considerations. Many parts of the reserve are protected to preserve habitats for birds and bog vegetation, so access or bathing may be restricted in sensitive zones; where allowed, water quality is generally suitable for bathing though the brown color and vegetation can affect comfort. There are typically no lifeguards or marked swimming facilities, so people choose well-sheltered shorelines and take care with uneven bottoms, cold shock from low temperatures, and signage indicating any restrictions.
