** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Limia (River Limia) in Galicia runs from mountainous inland areas toward the Atlantic-influenced lowlands, and its water temperature varies with season and location. In winter the river typically registers around 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), spring temperatures commonly range from about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F), summer values often climb to roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) in more sheltered or slower-flowing stretches, and autumn usually brings cooler readings of approximately 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). Upper, spring-fed reaches and shaded canyon sections tend to be colder year-round, while slow-moving lowland pools and reservoirs warm more in summer. Short-term temperatures also respond quickly to weather, rain, and dam releases.
Swimming is possible in many parts of the Limia, and local residents and visitors use natural pools, beaches at reservoirs, and calmer bends for bathing. However, swimming is not universally permitted or safe everywhere: currents can be strong, water quality varies by location and season, and restrictions apply near hydroelectric installations, bridges or after heavy rainfall. It is advisable to follow local signage, check current water quality reports, and take caution with cold water shock in cooler months; lifeguards are uncommon, so assess conditions before entering.
