** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Miño in Galicia shows a clear seasonal pattern in water temperature. In winter the river typically cools to roughly 8–12 °C (46–54 °F), while spring and autumn see intermediate values around 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). During the warmest months of summer surface temperatures commonly rise to about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), and in shallow, slow-moving reaches they can occasionally be a bit higher. Near the estuary the influence of tides and brackish water can moderate extremes, making temperatures slightly milder than upstream in both winter and summer.
Swimming is practiced along many stretches of the Miño, especially in calm pools, slow bends and officially designated bathing areas, because summer temperatures are often comfortable for recreation. However, not every spot is suitable: current strength, sudden releases from dams, local boat traffic and variable water quality mean authorities sometimes restrict bathing in particular sections. Water quality has improved in recent decades but can still be affected locally by runoff or sewage, so swimmers are advised to use marked beaches or municipal swimming sites and heed local advisories for safety and hygiene.
