** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The River of Ishëm (Lumi i Ishmit) in Lezhë County experiences a clear seasonal cycle in water temperature that reflects its Mediterranean climate and mountain-fed sources. In winter temperatures commonly fall to roughly 6–10 °C (43–50 °F), while spring sees a gradual rise to about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as snowmelt and rains increase flow. Peak summer temperatures in shallower stretches can reach around 18–25 °C (64–77 °F), especially in calm pools and slower meanders, and autumn typically cools back to approximately 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). Local variations occur depending on depth, shading, recent rainfall and the distance from tributary sources or the estuary.
Swimming is possible in parts of the Ishëm, particularly during warm summer months when temperatures are comfortable for bathing, but it is not universally recommended everywhere along the river. Water quality and safety vary: upstream sections tend to be cleaner and more suitable for informal swimming, while lower reaches closer to populated or agricultural areas may carry pollutants from runoff or untreated discharges. Variable currents, submerged hazards and the absence of lifeguards mean swimmers should exercise caution, check recent local conditions, and follow any posted advisories before entering the water.
