*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Buna River, known in Montenegro and Albania as the Bojana, flows from Lake Skadar to the Adriatic Sea and forms part of the border between the two countries. It is one of the largest outflow rivers in the Balkans, with strong currents and a mix of freshwater and seawater near its delta. Because of its southern location and low altitude, the Buna has relatively warm water for most of the year. In spring, temperatures range between 13 and 18 °C, while in summer they reach 22–27 °C, sometimes higher in shallow areas. In autumn, the water cools to 16–20 °C, and in winter it stays around 8–12 °C due to the influence of the nearby sea.
Swimming in the Buna River is allowed and common, especially near its lower stretches close to the Adriatic coast. The warm summer temperatures make the river suitable for bathing and other water activities. However, swimmers should take care in areas with stronger currents or near boat routes. The Buna is also popular for kayaking and fishing, while its clean, flowing water and scenic surroundings provide a natural link between the freshwater of Lake Skadar and the saltwater of the Adriatic.
