** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Raku järv is a small Estonian lake whose surface temperature follows the typical seasonal rhythm of shallow northern lakes. In late spring the water usually ranges from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as ice melts and the lake stratifies. Summer temperatures commonly reach 17–23 °C (63–73 °F), and on warm spells the surface can climb into the mid‑20s °C (mid‑70s °F). Early autumn sees cooling to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) before the lake freezes; winter surface temperatures sit close to 0 °C (32 °F) under ice until thaw.
Swimming at Raku järv is generally possible and commonly practiced in the warmer months because the water warms to comfortable levels and shoreline access is available, but there is no universal prohibition or guarantee of official bathing facilities. Local rules, water‑quality readings and signage determine whether a specific spot is recommended for bathing, and swimmers should be cautious about variable depth, absence of lifeguards and the occasional algal bloom. In winter, ice swimming (avanto) is done by some in permitted areas where ice thickness and safety measures have been checked. Always check local notices and exercise standard water‑safety precautions before entering.
