*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Harku (Harku järv) is a relatively shallow recreational lake near Tallinn, so its water temperatures fluctuate with the seasons. In winter the surface is typically at or around 0 °C (32 °F) and the lake often forms stable ice. During spring the water commonly warms from about 2 to 10 °C (36 to 50 °F) as snowmelt and cool inflows dominate. Summer is when the lake is warmest, with typical bathing temperatures in the range of 15 to 24 °C (59 to 75 °F), occasionally reaching the mid‑20s on hot spells. In autumn the water cools again, generally dropping through roughly 5 to 12 °C (41 to 54 °F) before freezing resumes.
Swimming is permitted and the lake is used for bathing and informal recreation at designated access points, but conditions vary and authorities monitor water quality. Recreational access is allowed because public beaches and shoreline areas exist, yet occasional algal blooms or elevated bacterial counts can prompt temporary advisories or closures to protect health. In winter, ice swimming occurs when ice thickness and safety have been confirmed. Visitors should follow local guidance and posted notices about water quality and safety before entering the water.
