*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Sutlepa meri is a shallow coastal lagoon in western Estonia whose water temperature varies strongly with the seasons because of its low depth and exposure. In spring the water is typically cold, roughly 2–12 °C (36–54 °F) as ice melts and warming begins. By early summer temperatures normally rise to about 15–20 °C (59–68 °F), with the warmest weeks in July and August sometimes reaching 20–22 °C (68–72 °F) in sheltered, shallow spots. In autumn the surface cools again to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F), and in winter the lagoon is often at or close to freezing, around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and prone to ice cover.
Swimming is possible in Sutlepa meri, particularly in summer when temperatures are most comfortable, but opportunities depend on access, depth and local rules. Many shores are reed-fringed, muddy or shallow, so there are few formal beaches or lifeguards; parts of the lagoon lie in sensitive wetland or bird-protection zones where bathing may be discouraged or regulated. Water quality can vary, so observing local signage and seasonal advisories is advisable. In short, casual summer swimming is common where accessible and warm enough, but check local restrictions and conditions before entering the water.
