*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Prizren (Prizreni / Призрен) is a historic city in southern Kosovo, famous for being divided by the Lumbardhi i Prizrenit (Prizren Bistrica), a river that originates high in the Sharr Mountains. Due to its mountain source, the Prizren Bistrica is characterized by low water temperatures throughout the year. In winter, the river is frigid, often flowing close to 4∘C to 8∘C due to the constant influx of cold mountain water and snowmelt. Even during the peak of the warm season in July and August, the temperature rarely exceeds a maximum of 15∘C to 18∘C in the urban sections of the river.
Swimming in the Prizren Bistrica, particularly in the section passing through the city center, is not permitted and is discouraged by public health standards. While the upper mountainous reaches of the river are relatively clean, the water quality deteriorates significantly as it flows through the dense urban area, collecting untreated sewage and municipal runoff. This substantial contamination makes the water hygienically unsafe for bathing, presenting a high risk of waterborne illnesses. Therefore, despite the picturesque setting, the river is primarily used for its aesthetic value and flow, not for safe public swimming.
