*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Obiliq (Обилић, Kastrioti) lies in central Kosovo, near the flow of the Llapi River, which passes through gently undulating terrain north of the capital region. The water temperature of the Llapi in this area follows a continental pattern, remaining cold in winter at around 3–5 °C and warming to 20–23 °C during July and August. In spring, melting snow from surrounding hills gradually raises the temperature to about 10–14 °C, while in autumn it cools again to near 10 °C by late October. The river’s moderate flow and shallow depth in some places make it accessible for recreation, though it is not officially used for swimming.
Swimming in the Llapi River near Obiliq is possible but not widely practiced. The main reasons are the variable water quality and occasional urban runoff from nearby settlements and industrial areas. During the warmest summer days, locals may wade or briefly bathe in calmer rural sections where the water is cleaner and less disturbed. However, the river is generally appreciated more for its natural setting and for relaxation along its banks than as a swimming destination. Its seasonal temperature changes reflect the climate of central Kosovo, with the warmest conditions suitable only for short, refreshing dips.
