*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lugo, in Galicia (Spanish: Lugo), sits inland from the Galician coast and is crossed by rivers and reservoirs rather than large natural lakes. Water bodies in the province tend to be cool because of the Atlantic-influenced climate and the depth and flow of reservoirs. Typical seasonal surface temperatures in these lakes and embalses range roughly from about 5–10 °C (41–50 °F) in winter, 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) in spring, 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in the warmest weeks of summer, and 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) in autumn. Local variations occur depending on depth, shading, altitude and proximity to moving river water, so shallow, sheltered lagoons warm more than deep impoundments.
Swimming opportunities exist in many parts of Lugo province but are conditional. There are designated river beaches and marked bathing areas at some reservoirs where local councils allow and sometimes supervise swimming during summer when water quality is tested and lifeguards may be present. Other spots remain off-limits because of strong currents, sudden depth changes, proximity to dam infrastructure or poor water quality from agricultural runoff. Visitors should follow local signage and municipal information: where authorities permit bathing it is generally because monitoring shows acceptable hygiene and safety conditions, while prohibitions are aimed at preventing accidents and pollution-related health risks.
