These figures can fluctuate locally depending on altitude, recent rainfall, and the presence of shaded pools or faster-flowing rapids; shallow, sun-exposed stretches warm more in summer, while shaded gorges remain markedly colder.
Swimming in the Río Parga is possible in many of the calmer, accessible natural pools during the warmer months, but it is not uniformly regulated or supervised.
