*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Drina River, flowing along the border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, is one of the most beautiful and distinctive rivers in the Balkans. It originates from cold mountain springs, which makes its water clear but relatively cold throughout the year. In spring, the water temperature usually ranges between 8 and 13 °C, while in summer it rises to 18–22 °C, and in some calm sections up to 24 °C. During autumn, it cools again to 12–17 °C, and in winter it often drops below 5 °C, reflecting its mountainous origin. The Drina’s strong current and emerald-green color make it both picturesque and dynamic.
Swimming in the Drina River is allowed and popular in several places, especially near Bajina Bašta, Ljubovija, and Mali Zvornik. The best time for swimming is in July and August when the water becomes most comfortable. However, because of cold currents and varying depth, caution is required, and swimming is recommended only in designated or calm areas. Many people visit the Drina for rafting, kayaking, and fishing, as well as to enjoy its clean water and surrounding nature. The river offers both adventure and relaxation in one of Serbia’s most scenic landscapes.
