The town of Bratunac is located in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, situated directly on the bank of the Drina River, which forms a natural border with Serbia. The Drina is known for its purity and relatively cold temperatures, influenced by its hydro-electric dams and mountain origins. In the winter, the water is very cold, typically ranging from 5∘C to 9∘C, sometimes carrying ice.
