*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Tuzly Lagoons are a system of shallow marine lagoons in southern Odesa Oblast, separated from the Black Sea by a long sandbar. Their average depth is quite low — usually about 1.0-1.3 m, sometimes up to 2.5 m in certain parts — which means the water warms up rather quickly in sunny, calm weather. Because of this, during midsummer the water temperature in many of the lagoons can become quite pleasant for swimming, arguably reaching similar warmth to the nearby sea in sheltered or shallower spots.
However, the bathing potential is mixed. The high salinity of some lagoons (in some cases up to 30-40‰) may make the water feel heavier or different than pure freshwater, which some swimmers like, some don’t. Also, because the lagoons are shallow and sometimes poorly flushed, water levels and clarity can drop or become more turbid, and there are ecological stresses (for example, parts drying up in hot periods) which may affect water quality. So in practice, swimming is best in spots known to locals, after verifying that the specific lagoon is in good condition (not shallow-muddy, or overly salty, and safe).
