*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Ermistu järv is a shallow coastal lake in southwest Estonia that warms and cools relatively quickly with the seasons. Typical water temperatures in spring (April–May) range roughly from 2–12 °C (36–54 °F) as the water thaws and begins to warm; in summer (June–August) surface temperatures commonly reach about 15–25 °C (59–77 °F), occasionally climbing higher during heat spells; autumn (September–October) sees cooling to roughly 5–15 °C (41–59 °F); and in winter the lake usually freezes, with water at or just above 0–1 °C (32–34 °F) beneath the ice. Because the lake is shallow and partly sheltered, temperatures can vary between open water and reed-bordered shallows and respond fast to weather changes.
Swimming in Ermistu järv is generally possible and commonly done in the warmer months when the surface temperature is comfortable, since it is a publicly accessible lake with gentle shores. However, conditions affect suitability: summer warmth makes swimming pleasant, while ice cover in winter prevents ordinary swimming except for experienced, well-prepared ice swimmers. Water quality and local factors such as reeds, muddy bottoms and occasional algal growth can influence safety and enjoyment, and there are typically no lifeguards, so swimmers should use normal precautions and heed any local advisories.
